Here is some info for the projects for the meeting Tuesday April 23rd
We
will be making 2 cards/projects: The first one will be a Herringbone Card that
uses
lots of strips of coordinating papers-I have 3 different sets of papers
and will cut the
strips before the meeting for people to use. The second
will be a napkin card made
from decorated cocktail napkins-I have a supply
with me that people can use also
The only supplies that people need to
bring will be double-sided adhesive, scissors,
scotch tape, pop-ups, white
cardstock and cutter. If you have some interesting cocktail
napkins that you
would like to use, bring them along

Contact Paper Info
Hi ladies,
After our meeting last evening, I checked both the rolls of contact that I
purchased at Staples and sure enough, one of them does not stick well. The
other is so-so. Also as Ginny noted, the one she purchased was not as clear
and shiny and by comparison to what I use, it does seem different.
There was another lady sitting to my left last night (table in front of
where you were
Ginny... facing you) and she told me that she got a roll, different from mine, from Staples. She said it was bigger, more on the roll, clearer/shiny and she used it on a card and it worked well. Hers was $9.99 and Staples ordered it for her and had it sent to the local store for her to pick up. Sorry I don't know her name, but you might want to ask at the next meeting or send out a note to the members to

A. let them know that Staples has two types and the more expensive one is
better quality
B. let them know that the $2.99 roll has not produced acceptable
results.
Maybe people would be willing to share a roll of the more expensive one,
seeing it has more on it. I think it is a product used more for laminating.
Will go on their site and see if I can find it.

Janet and I
have 85 cards ready for mailing for Operation Write Home, however we would like
to wait and mail them to meet the April 30 deadline and fill the box
completely. Would you please put an e-mail out to the club that we need July
4th cards and Any Hero cards this month and please bring them on or before the
April 30 deadline. I have attached a file for members so they will know the
deadlines ahead of time.
ITEMS DISCUSSED
AT THE LAST MEETING:
The club
purchased 3 stamps for men's cards and Scorepal at Marion Market.
Jan Edmondson
took on the Operation Write Home project. She will be in charge of receiving
any cards that we make and mailing them. The Treasury will pay for all shipping
costs. Thanks, big time, for stepping forward Jan. I personally am very
grateful!
See you
Tuesday! Joyce Stewart
