                            Stamping Around the Villages

Debby will show us how to make a braided card.

She will bring the stamps that are shown in the picture but you are

responsible to bring all supplies to create this card after you are

shown how to do the braid. Let your imagination run wild, there is

no limit to what you can do with this.

You will need to bring:

your normal tool kit (scissors, liquid glue, bone folder etc.),

cardstock for your card base – it will be an A2 card. It can be

double sided for more interest if you want or you could have a

double sided piece of pattern paper to glue on to you card stock,

cardstock to mat your card,

stamp(s) and inks, colored pencils, markers or whatever you want

to create an image/design on your card.

                Stamping Around the Villages

I will be showing everyone how to create 5 different styles of gift card
holders without having to use a die. I made all of mine in a Christmas
theme but they could be used for any occasion birthday, graduation, just
    because, or Anniversary.

I need everyone to bring their basic kit, paper trimmer, score board,
wet adhesive, & pop dots, to class. Paper wise, I would recommend the
    following Cardstock solid at least 5 sheets one for each gift card base;
Patterned Paper of your choice, it’s suggested that one might be a solid
pattern that coordinates with the pattern you chose, at least 4-5
sheets. The idea is for you to be able to mix and match the papers.

We will be trying to make all 5 gift cards at the meeting. I think that
we can complete the bases with some simple layering of the pattern
paper but we can finish up embellishing them later on, perhaps at home.

There are some cutting instructions for you aka homework.I would paper-
clip all the pieces for the gift cards together. In other words, all
the pieces for gift card 1 clipped together, then all the pieces for
gift card 2 clipped together and so on. Here we go:

    Gift card 1 - Trifold:
Base Cardstock (solid color) 4”x 8”; score on long side at 2” & 5 1/2”
    Belly band solid Cardstock 1”x8”; score at 1 3/4” & 5 1/4”
    Patterned paper 1 of each - 3 3/4x2 1/4”; 3 3/4”x1 1/4”; 3 3/4”x3 1/4”

Gift card 2 - Trifold with Pop up:
    Base solid color Cardstock 4”x10”;
    Score at 1 1/4”, 3 3/4”, 5 3/4” & 7 3/4”
    Pattern Paper:
    2 of 2” x 3 3/4”; 1 of each 1 x 3 3/4”; 1 of 3 3/4”x 2 1/4”

Gift card 3 - Pocket Tag
    Base solid color 3 1/4”x 8 1/2”; score at 3 1/2”
    Tag solid color 4 3/4” x 2 3/4”
    Patterned Paper 1 of each, 3” x 3 1/4”, 1 3/4”x 3”, 3“x 4 3/4”

Gift card 4 - Pop up Present
Base solid Cardstock 4”x11”; score at long side 2 1/4”& 7 1/2”; on short
side score at 1/2” on both sides.
    Insert solid Cardstock 2 3/4”x5 1/8”; score at 1/2”
    Patterned Paper:3” x 2 1/4”, 2 3/4” x 3 1/4”

Gift card 5 - Pull apart Present
    Base solid color Cardstock 5” x 4 3/4”; score on 5” side at 2 1/2”.
    Top piece solid Cardstock 5 1/4”x3 “; score on 3” side at 1 1/2”.
    Patterned Paper 5”x1 1/4”, 4 1/2”x 2 1/4”.

That’s a lot of homework! I’m sorry.... but if you can do this before we
meet this week, I think we can get them all in.

    Thanks,
    Jean

You will just need your regular supplies but Debbie said you do need A STRONG LIQUID ADHESIVE (GLUE). Photos of the project are attached.

Stamping Around the Villages

We are switching things up a bit for February stamping around the Villages.

Our first meeting falls on Valentines Day 2/14 and I’m thinking many members will be home celebrating with their loved ones. Therefore the meeting on 2/14 will be our open crop night.

The second meeting is on 2/28 and Debby Murray will be hosting this meeting. She is teaching us how to make an envelope book.

Jean

For the meeting for February 28 envelopes will be provided. Normally use 5 or 6 envelopes.

Choose from light pink, dark pink, yellow, orange, greenish blue envelopes.

Bring: normal tool kit, including ruler, cutter and adhesive, card stock, printed paper, embellishments, ribbon to tie the book closed and pulls for tags.

8½ x 11 paper will work fine,12×12 paper works too.

Attached are some pictures of ones I have done.
