COLLAGE CARDS - - - TUESDAY, JULY 23RD

Tuesday, July 23 is our next meeting at Seabreeze Rec Center at 6:30 PM.

Nancy Wickstrim will be doing collage cards.  Items you need to bring are listed below from Nancy's email:

Collage Cards

4 x 5 cards, any color paper can be used
3 x 3/4 x 4 3/4 white card stock for base collage to glue on front of card.  Have several pieces cut
Various colors of tissue paper, also can be patterns and a magazine to cut up.  Bring Mullberry or Rice paper in various colors if you have any.  Thin papers work the best.
Mod Podge and brush to glue collage pieces down.  Mat medium works well if you have that.
Staz-on-Ink, black
Stamps, can be background stamps or stamps that are more filled in.  They work better than outline stamps for the collage
Embellishments, glitter, sparkle rhinestones, sparkle threads, buttons, etc

I will show you 2 different ways to do collage.  Tissue paper collage and magazine collage.
Fun! Fun! Fun!

See you there, Joyce Stewart

Tuesday, June 11 Meeting

Our next meeting is Tuesday, June 11th, at the Sea Breeze Rec Center at 6:30 PM.

LET'S PLAY DRESS UP!

I'll be bringing my Stampin' Up! Dress Up Framelits for everyone to play with on Tuesday night.  These are so much fun.  Just like playing paper dolls when you were a little girl.  The framelits set consists of a dress form and two styles of dresses.  However with just a little imagination papercrafters have come up with dozens of different styles.   I'll have some samples to share with you but once you get started I promise you will come up with all kinds of ideas on your own.

There will be two sets of framelits and two Big Shots to use.  You will need to bring the following:
  • Card stock for your card bases
  • Black or gray card stock for the dress form
  • Patterned and solid papers for your dresses
  • Embellishments such as pearls, rhinestones, flowers, ribbons, etc. to decorate your dresses
I'll be bringing some of my stash of retired designer papers that you can use.  And whatever extra embellishments that I have laying around.

These are also really cute as framed art.

Please join us on Tuesday night and become a fashion designer!  If you have any questions before Tuesday, please feel free to contact me.

Tuesday, May 28th Meeting

Our next meeting is Tuesday, May 28th, 6:30 PM at Seabreeze Rec Center.
Carolyn Taylor is doing the decorative clocks.

 You will need to bring:
Embellishments and paper to decorate a CD.    Also you will need two AA batteries.

She had several clocks on display at our last meeting.  The embellishment that you choose needs to be good sized.   I purchased a Jolee dimensional sticker (golf cart) which is approximately 3" X 3 3/4".

She will provide CD, rubber cement and clock movements.
The cost of the class will be $5.00.

Hope to see you all there!  Great Father's Day gift!

We still need someone for July 9th meeting.
We voted to continue with two meetings a month through the summer.  Perhaps we will have one night of Operation Write Home or doing our own projects.

June 10th is our next mailing for Operation Write Home.  We need general cards and especially Hero cards.

We only have 12 people signed up for the June 30th Stampfest (Orlando) bus trip.  We are going to try to have something in the paper to see if we can get stir up more interest.  If we don't get more interest, we will have to cancel the trip.  We can do that before May 30th and get our deposit back.
