Tuesday, October 8th Meeting

Our next meeting is Tuesday, Oct 8th at Seabreeze.
As of NOW, we are switching to our blog for info on each meeting.  Our blog is   http://stampingaroundthevillages.blogspot.com
Also please mark your calendars for the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays so you won't forget our meetings.  Katie and Marsha you will need to contact Florence so she can add the "list of items to bring" to our blog.  On October 8th, we will be discussing volunteers for future meetings.  I have no one signed up after the 10/8 meeting.
We also need a new President.  Please be thinking about this so we can leave that meeting with a new President in place.  If our club is to continue, we all need to do our part in making it successful.
Update on Ginny:  She pulled muscles in shoulder and chest due to lifting heavy boxes in unpacking.  Has been to ER a few times in extreme pain.  She is now laying low and having to behave herself.  Her most recent note says she is getting better.
She also mentioned that she purchased lamps with her gift of money from the club.  Everytime she looks at them, she thinks of all of us.  Her tele #706/896-8211 and email

The first monthly sale at Market of Marion is October 12th. I will continue to send out updates as necessary and will always be available by phone and email.

COLLAGE CARDS - - - TUESDAY, JULY 23RD

Tuesday, July 23 is our next meeting at Seabreeze Rec Center at 6:30 PM.

Nancy Wickstrim will be doing collage cards.  Items you need to bring are listed below from Nancy's email:

Collage Cards

4 x 5 cards, any color paper can be used
3 x 3/4 x 4 3/4 white card stock for base collage to glue on front of card.  Have several pieces cut
Various colors of tissue paper, also can be patterns and a magazine to cut up.  Bring Mullberry or Rice paper in various colors if you have any.  Thin papers work the best.
Mod Podge and brush to glue collage pieces down.  Mat medium works well if you have that.
Staz-on-Ink, black
Stamps, can be background stamps or stamps that are more filled in.  They work better than outline stamps for the collage
Embellishments, glitter, sparkle rhinestones, sparkle threads, buttons, etc

I will show you 2 different ways to do collage.  Tissue paper collage and magazine collage.
Fun! Fun! Fun!

See you there, Joyce Stewart

Tuesday, June 11 Meeting

Our next meeting is Tuesday, June 11th, at the Sea Breeze Rec Center at 6:30 PM.

LET'S PLAY DRESS UP!

I'll be bringing my Stampin' Up! Dress Up Framelits for everyone to play with on Tuesday night.  These are so much fun.  Just like playing paper dolls when you were a little girl.  The framelits set consists of a dress form and two styles of dresses.  However with just a little imagination papercrafters have come up with dozens of different styles.   I'll have some samples to share with you but once you get started I promise you will come up with all kinds of ideas on your own.

There will be two sets of framelits and two Big Shots to use.  You will need to bring the following:
  • Card stock for your card bases
  • Black or gray card stock for the dress form
  • Patterned and solid papers for your dresses
  • Embellishments such as pearls, rhinestones, flowers, ribbons, etc. to decorate your dresses
I'll be bringing some of my stash of retired designer papers that you can use.  And whatever extra embellishments that I have laying around.

These are also really cute as framed art.

Please join us on Tuesday night and become a fashion designer!  If you have any questions before Tuesday, please feel free to contact me.
