Stamping
Around the Villages
Our
next meeting at Seabreeze is Tuesday April 10 at 6:30.
Janet
Fowler has something for us that is a bit different than what we are
use to.
Did
you know that that every month of the year approximately 21
thousand women are diagnosed with breast cancer, and the average age
at the time of this diagnosis is 62? We all know at least one friend,
family member , or maybe even us, affected by this disease. Lets
use our talents and abilities to brighten the day of a woman going
through this crisis. Our 4/10 meeting will focus on helping the
efforts of GirlsLoveMail!! This is a charity that collects letters
and cards of encouragement for women newly diagnosed and distributes
them to clinics, cancer centers ad hospitals all over the country.
They have an informative website and I would encourage you to check
them out. its http://WWW.GirlsLoveMail.com.
THINGS
TO BRING
several
pieces of card stock to use for your cards that will fit into a
4.75 by 6.5 envelope. You don't need to bring any envelopes as they
are mailed in bulk.
stamps
of your choice
ink
pads
colored
pencils, markers, etc.
The
organization mails the cards and letters in bulk and as a result,
weight matters, So we need to keep our cards a bit more one
dimensional and lighter in weight.
They
also ask that we write at least 4 lines of hand written text. though
we can still use stamps with encouraging words, our cards need to be
more personal. There are examples of things to say in case you are a
little stumped on the website.
At
the end of our meeting I will take our cards and mail them to the
headquarters in California where they will then be distributed.
around the country. I hope even though this meeting is a bit
different than our usual lighthearted get together, that we all can
make an effort to attend so we can be a blessing to these ladies and
have fun doing it!!
